Wyreside Fishery

  • Age:
    Opened in 1988.
  • Description:
    A large L-shaped lake with an island and two points. A mature mixed fishery until 2003 when it was changed to a carp only fishery and now the new owners have restocked some other species but it is still a predominantly carp water. Only 15 pegs each big enough to erect a large bivvy are provided and a lot of clearing and maintenance has been done to a water which had become rather overgrown.
  • Facilities:
    Parking in spaces provided by the pegs, caravan pitches, toilets and showers.
  • Access:
    Generally excellent, some with disabled ramps, some you can park right next to. The most popular pegs are on the river bank side.
  • Stocking:
    Carp of all types up to 35lb plus a few catfish up to 30lb .
  • Prices:
    Day ticket 12hr - £20 and 24hrs - £35. Pegs can be pre-booked.
  • Restrictions:
    No keepnets or sacks, no nut baits, no dogs or children under 12.
  • Location:
    On the A586 at St.Michaels near the Gatso camera at the Garstang end of the village. Well signposted outside.
