Whitmore Fishery

  • Age:
Dug in 2000 stocked in 2001. The aerial photo shows work under construction and the other photos were taken in the first year of opening so reflect a more barren landscape than is current.
  • Description:
A rather exposed complex of three lakes and two farm ponds. A large well stocked 'silver fish' lake and a ring shaped pond plus a smaller specimen lake with some nice carp. The complex is still fairly new but developing plant growth nicely and many trees have been planted as windbreaks.
  • Facilities:
Parking in spaces provided round the lakes. A cafe or lodge was being built when last visited.
  • Access:
All waters have flat banks and good access.
  • Stocking:
Most of the popular species with larger carp.
  • Prices:
£8 per day on the bank for one rod/pole only.
  • Restrictions:
No fully barbed hooks and net dip must be used.
  • Location:
Take junction 3 off the M55 towards Fleetwood on A585. Turn left down Greenhalgh Lane to the t-junction and turn left then next left again into Bradshaw Lane. The fishery is signposted on the left after 100yds.
