 | Horns Dam - Age:
Approximately 1960. The aerial photo shows the main lake and since being taken other smaller lakes and a large owners house have been built in the far end of the left hand field near the top of the picture. - Description:
A four acre dam which was a carp syndicate until opening as a day ticket water in 2000. There are also 2 smaller ponds, created in 2003 behind the owners house. These are more suited to poles and match fishing than the original lake. - Facilities:
Caravan pitches and parking in car parks provided. - Access:
Pegs along the dam are easy access but most are down banking. - Stocking:
Most species stocked but specimens seldom caught, a hard water but tench of 5lb and carp to 20lb also bream of 12lb have been claimed. - Prices:
£6 per day on the bank. £2 per extra rod. - Restrictions:
No fully barbed hooks, nut baits, or trout pellets and ground bait limit of 1 kilo by feeder only. No keepnets on the main lake and more rules are posted by the gate. - Location:
Take B5269 Whittingham Road off the A6 at Broughton heading for Longridge, and turn left onto Camforth Hall Lane at Whittingham and the fishery is on the right just before the junction at the Horns Inn. - Contacts:
