Cleveley Bridge

  • Age:
Natural woodland with lakes dug as early as 1951 until as late as 2000 The late Eric Fishwicks 'back garden'.
  • Description:
A number of lakes, ponds and canals. A unique unspoilt place ideal for any angler to relax. One of  my favourite fisheries. Used to be managed by Chris Sodo and Graheme Hall and a lot of work was done to improve things. Eric was seriously ill in 2004 and has since died and so less maintenance work has been done and it is beginning to get overgrown and naturalized again. These are well stocked waters and it is unusual to blank here. It is always possible to find yourself a place that seems as if you are the only person there. It is very natural and full of wildlife. Mrs Fishwick sold the reserve in 2005 and it is now under new management who are developing the facilities. There will be holiday apartments, bed & breakfast and food once conversion of the house and lodge is complete.
